>Shows what I know

>Alber Elbaz put on a pre-fall show at Lanvin, which, true to form for pre-fall, was a showcase more than a runway. But its so much more effective than a runway could ever be. He was able to rig the lighting so perfectly that it was even possible to spotlight certain parts of the dress and really expose the luxury and fabrics of the clothes. With a show like this, he can display Lanvin’s brand much more effectively, in my opinion. And the static image from the show is more important than the show itself in the computer age. This generation saves and grabs Style.com snapshots that they want to remember and that represent the show to them. With each successive picture from this show, you’re more and more involved in the world of Lanvin. If I save this image and come across it later, I will instantly remember the ambience. The spectacle of the runway might breed excitement, but for a more effective, discreet importance, it seems fashion will have to be shown in different, more personal ways.
